Schotschekloof Walmers Rugby Football Club (SKW RFC) is a community club based in the Bo Kaap area, Cape Town. With the unification of rugby in 1992, Schotschekloof RFC and Walmers RFC merged to form SKW RFC. Just like the historical Bo Kaap area, home of SKW RFC, the club itself has a proud history and a significant legacy of producing exceptional talent coupled with an expansive style of rugby which draws in large crowds with every match. Our home grounds is on the Green Point Track A, commonly known as “The Track”, which has been a bastion for socio-economically disadvantaged community-based rugby, prior to the unification of rugby in South Africa. For the past 18 years, except 2023 when we were relegated to Super League B and, we have successfully been competing in the Super League A. We progressed to compete on this level through a community culture that is based on true passion for rugby, using sport as a form of advancement and unifying people from various backgrounds.

SKW is a culturally and ethnically diverse club's driven by passion and love for our community & the game. We foster good community values and have huge community involvement and support crowd attendance as well as big social media support & following. SKW is very socially active with programs including feeding schemes, spiritual upliftment programs, youth development and several other community programs.

Our vision is to provide educational and social opportunities for all youth inclusive of all race, class, gender and religious orientation from socio-economically disadvantaged communities, regardless of their ability to realise their fullest potential and play Rugby to their highest personal standard in a safe, fun and non-discriminatory environment and to promote and model the core values of rugby, good sportsmanship and a strong sense of community bonding.

We strive to provide pathways for all players to excel to the highest level of provincial and national rugby in SA. SKW fosters a legacy of producing exceptionally talented players coupled with an expansive style of play. Our fitness ethos helps players to enjoy the game more and this is over and above the free flowing rugby that is part of our playing and coaching structures. We pride ourselves in creating an environment that fosters personal growth on and off the field. SKW is a family orientated club and guarantees a memorable involvement / relationship with the SKW family and community.
