In May 1992, after returning from the Easter Tournaments in the Eastern Cape, the Black workforce in Langa agreed to establish a Saturday Team that would bring together players from all the Sunday League clubs participating at Langa Stadium. This decision marked the birth of Langa, which emerged after breaking away from the LAGUNYA combination – a structure that united clubs from Langa, Gugulethu, and Nyanga.

Following the Easter tournaments of 1992, the Langa clubs came together and resolved to separate from the LAGUNYA setup. They recognized that Langa had developed enough clubs of its own to sustain an independent Saturday League, and thus chose to stand on their own.
