Achievements

We had a local community boy selected for SA legends squad, who participated at Grant Hkomo U16, the young man Abdul was also offered a full scholarship to Durban High School.
Our juniors participated at the Glenwood High Schools annual festival in Durban which was held earlier this year and of our juniors will be participating in the Portugal Autmn Series Rugby Festival in Lisbon.
In 2024 two of our U13 boys received scholarships, one to Rondebosch boys and one to Glenwood High School in Durban.
Xolani an U13 XV player also made WP Craven Week.

Background

Goodwood RFC is one of the oldest rugby clubs in the Western Province. In 2021 we celebrated our 80th year of existence, which is quite a milestone. As a community-based club, we are very proud of our heritage. Since 2020 post COVID we have shifted our focus more onto the developing, uplifting and supporting of talented rugby players
GWRFC is situated within the Goodwood Community and fields 3 senior teams, 1 U20 team and in 2024 started with Goodwood juniors which has been a huge success through developing community players from smaller schools, this year we have grown, with numbers increasing at U15/16/17.
We are proud of the platform and foundation that we have developed, creating exposure and opportunities for aspiring & talented rugby players.
