Elsies River United Rugby Football Club was established in 1992 through the merger of the former Elsies River-Excelsior RFC and Meltons RFC. Since then, the club has become a respected institution within the Western Province rugby community, proudly based at Elsies Park in Elsies River.

We also had a few players representing the club at Wp Schools and recently produced U20 Women springbok player Kelly Mckenna and Senior Wp women players.

Elsies River United has competed in various Western Province competitions, with its highest achievement being promotion to Super League B in 2005 and 2006 seasons.
Currently competing in the Central Region.

Elsies River United RFC was voted Club of the year in 1997, by Western Province Referees Society.

Elsies River United has also built lasting relationships over the years with International teams from United Kingdom, including Luctonians RFC and Gosport & Fareham RFC.
