Albions Rugby Club, established in 1919 and based in the heart of Paarl, Western Cape, has a proud and rich history as one of the community’s most respected and vibrant rugby institutions. Founded to promote the game of rugby among local players, the club has grown into a cornerstone of the sporting community, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and excellence both on and off the field.

Over the decades, Albions has produced exceptional talent, including three Springboks, Avril Williams, Tinus Linee, and Chester Williams and one Springbok Sevens player, Eugene Francis. Many other players have earned Western Province colours, such as Garrett Watts, William Daniels, Wilfred Williams, Dirk Adams, Patrick Poggenpoel, Herman Andrews, and Alvin Hugo (Boland).

The club provides opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels from juniors to seasoned senior teams and takes pride in developing local talent while upholding the values of teamwork, respect, and commitment. Albions is well known for its passionate supporter base, whose dedication and spirit form the backbone of the club’s electric matchday atmosphere.
